Mandani Wins Teaching Fellows Scholarship |

Jordan High School student Samantha Mandani recently received a North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship, which is awarded to a select group of seniors each year in North Carolina. Samantha will be awarded $6,500 for tuition at a state university to study the art of teaching. When teaching fellows graduate from college, they teach for a minimum of five years at a North Carolina public school.
Samantha will attend North Carolina State University as a teaching fellow in high school English. She will have many opportunities to work with students at local high schools as part of the teaching fellows program. Samantha has excelled in her English and Creative Writing courses at Jordan. She has also published her own novel entitled, Once Upon a Time in Your Shoes, through the imprint McKinnon Press. Congratulations to Samantha on receiving this prestigious scholarship! |

Women's PAC-6 Track & Field Regular Season Champs 2008! |

The senior ladies of Jordan Track and Field have accomplished several goals during their stay at Jordan High School. Captains Michelle Lutz, Kimberly Hunter, Bianka Reese, Melony Ochieng, and Jesse Berkowitz have maintained flawless seasons with back-to-back regular season and PAC-6 Conference Championships. Each runner has contributed to the winning records at Jordan for the past four years. The Lady Falcons defeated Chapel Hill High School on Wednesday, 77 to 69, and are undefeated this season with a 7-0 record in the PAC-6 Conference. Come out and show your support for the team at the PAC-6 Conference Championships Tuesday and Wednesday, April 22nd and 23rd at Riverside High School. |

Manhertz Awarded Teaching Fellows Scholarship |

Jordan High School student Chad Manhertz recently was recently awarded a North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship, which is awarded to a select group of seniors each year in North Carolina. Chad will be awarded $6,500 for tuition at a state university to study the art of teaching. When teaching fellows grauduate from college, they teach for a minimum of five years at a North Carolina public school.
Chad will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a teaching fellow in high school math. He will have many opportunities to work with students at local high schools as part of the teaching fellows program. Chad was recommended for the scholarship by Ms. Bean, his honors Integrated Math 4 teacher. Chad showed incredible intiative in Ms. Bean's class tutoring students and participating in activities. This year Chad is taking both AP Statistics and AP Calculus BC, where he continues to excel in math. Congratulations, Chad! |
